Helpful info and FAQs
Locations
Please keep in mind that outdoor locations can look very different depending on the weather, time of day, and season. Lighting, foliage, and overall atmosphere naturally change throughout the year, so a location may not appear exactly as shown in previous photos. These variations are part of what makes each session unique, and I carefully choose the best angles and lighting at the time of your session to create beautiful, authentic images no matter the conditions.
during your session
During your session, expect a relaxed and enjoyable experience focused on capturing natural, genuine moments. I’ll guide you through gentle posing while also allowing plenty of room for movement, laughter, and fun—ESPECIALLY FOR KIDS. Silly faces, wiggle breaks, and play are always welcome, as they help little ones feel comfortable, more relaxed, and bring out real expressions. If there’s a specific pose or family grouping that’s especially important to you, please let me know ahead of time or during the session so I can be sure to capture it for you.
young children
When working with young children, it’s important to keep the environment calm and supportive. While it’s natural for loved ones to want to help by calling out names or asking for smiles, having multiple people doing so can quickly become overwhelming and lead to sensory overload. This can cause children to shut down or become emotional. For the best experience and most natural expressions, I recommend having one trusted adult stand near me to help gain the child’s attention, while all other family members step back and allow the moment to unfold gently.
make your session unique!
Every session is designed to be as unique as you are. Your photos should reflect who you are, what you love, and the story you’re telling in this season of life. For senior sessions, this might mean incorporating hobbies, sports, or interests that showcase your personality. Engagement sessions are a chance to tell your story—how you met, what you enjoy doing together, and what makes your relationship special. And for families, including an activity you love doing together can help create meaningful, authentic images that truly feel like you. I love collaborating with you to create a session that feels personal, relaxed, and one-of-a-kind.
